Season X of the World Poker Tour Season has been running since the end of May. The season has seen two events so far, although it didn’t reach the USA until earlier last week, when the WPT Legends of Poker – one of the most eagerly awaited events of the year, kicked off at the Bicycle Casino in Bell Gardens in the state of California.
The event could well be the largest in WPT history. It features a $3,500 buy-in and optional re-entry is available. The first day attracted 322 players, of which just 148 remained by the end of the day.
Day 1a saw Matthew Berkey emerge as the chip leader, with a sizeable stack of 248,500 chips
The standings at the end of Day1a are:
1st Matthew Berkey - 248,500
2nd Soi Nguyen - 215,200
3rd Cody Slaubaugh - 188,200
