WPT Atlantic City Action Heats Up
The Borgata Poker Open is now down to the final table, and the action on the World Poker Tour circuit in general is continuing as the season starts to heat up this week. The WPT Borgata Poker Open sees Bobby Oboodi taking the lead, holding 11 million chips and the prime seat on the Final Table. Fred Goldberg is hot on his heels, and also holds just over 11 million chips. The remainder of the final table lags behind, with Darren Elias having just 7.3 million chips, Dan Buzgon 4.7 million, and the rest of the table even shorter stacks. The remaining players will be taking part in a televised final table.
Over at the WPT Malta, the main event has just entered day two. Cecilia Pescaglini holds the chip lead currently, with 976,000 chips – double the stack of the second placed player, Marvin Rettenmaier. The tournament has been full of surprises so far, with Phil Hellmuth and Steve O’Dwyer both being eliminated early in the play.
The money bubble is yet to break in Malta, but it will burst soon – there are 30 players remaining, and only 27 money spots. The winner of the tournament will take away the grand prize of $273,000. It’s expected that the final table will be decided tomorrow.
