The World poker Tour London has now conclude.  The event took place at Mayfair’s Palm Beach Casino, and clashed with several other European tournaments, so the turn out this year was just 171 players, a smaller pool than expected, making the prize pool £820,800, with the winner getting £273,783.

The tournament was especially interesting for one person in particular – Kristoffer Thorsson, who was given his place as part of a PartyPoker WPT prize package.  If Thorsson wins the event, he will be eligible for a $500,000 bonus.

Thorsson’s hopes were smashed by Jake Cody, who was one of the people to register just before the start of the first level of Day 2.  Only five people took advantage of late registration, and the other four did not survive the day.  Cody, however, managed to survive, and used his freshness to his advantage.

He started the next day low on chips, but played agressively, quickly racking up a decent stack.

The final tournament standings, and the prizes, were:

Winner: Jake Cody – £273,783
2nd. Nichlas Mattsson – £176,979
3rd. Bruce Atkinson – £93,316
4th. Kristoffer Thorson – £56,311
5th. Giovanni Safina – £42,322
6th. Sandiep Khosa – £34,189
7th. Fabian Quoss – £26,144
8th. Gareth Teatum – £18,100
