Viktor ‘Isildur1′ Blom made his World Series of Poker debut this week. Blom is a Swedish poker player that has an interesting and volatile history. He has won, and lost, millions in virtual tournaments, with his poker career taking off big style long before he was old enough to gamble in the USA.
Blom is now 21 years old, and is celebrating his coming of age by heading out to the most prestigious poker tournament in the world. His debut performance has, so far, been quite reserved and conservative. He played slow in his first tournament, and managed a few good hands but he was eventually sent to the rail.
It’s unclear how many tournaments the young Swede will enter this year. Hopefully he’ll not spend too much time in the side games. He has a decent tournament record, even if his online performances have been spotty, so he has a good chance of getting a bracelet if he puts his mind to it, and if he doesn’t let his nerves get to him.
The first time in Vegas is a tough time for anyone, and for someone like Blom that is being watched all around the world it must be even harder. We wish him the best of luck, whatever he enters!
