The 2010 APT Macau kicks off on Saturday 6th November 2010 at the City of Dreams in Macau.The world’s finest poker stars will be in attendance. Here’s the latest scoop on the APT 2010.
Come Saturday November 6th at the City of Dreams in Macau, poker fans are in for a field day. It’s the beginning of the 2010 APT and already the contest is shaping up to be a live wire. Event 1 is the APT Welcome No-Limit Hold’em contest. There are no Rebuys and no Add-ons. It’s a $296 event. From Sunday November 7th thru Sunday November 14th, poker players will get a taste of Main Event fever – a scintillating $4,183 contest with no Rebuys or Add-ons. This event typically attracts mega-crowds and separates the poker greenhorns from the pros.

Between November 7th and November 14th there are 10 events taking place. Each event ups the ante as the final Asia Poker Tour shootout gets underway. The Main Event is comprised of each individual event, the likes of which include:
Event 2 – No Limit Hold’em Ladies of poker events $116
Event 3 – No Limit Hold’em $296
Event 4 – No Limit Hold’em High Rollers $19,306
Event 5 – No Limit Hold’em Dafa Poker Six Handed $296
Event 6 – No Limit Hold’em Head Hunter Event $425

Event 8 – No Limit Hold’em Battle of the Nations Event $965
Event 9 – No Limit Hold’em Greed Event $296
Event 10 – No Limit Hold’em Seven Handed Event $476
The kicker is Event 11 which is the No Limit Hold’em Shootout. Hot on the heels of the hugely popular APT Philippines 2009 (which poker ace Neil Arce won with a whopping $185k payday), the APT 2010 Macau is all the rage. The City of Dreams – in association with the Hard Rock Hotel – will be providing the magnificent backdrop for this star-studded poker tourney. The Main Event buy-in is around $4,180 + $320. The 9-day festival of poker concludes with a much-anticipated Main Event with windfall numbers of poker aficionados expected to be in attendance – online and in person. In addition, there will be some eleven side events and myriad satellite tourneys taking place. The 2009 APT Macau Main Event was won Adrien Allain. He walked away with $380,000 of the $1,300,000.00 prize pool.
The magnificent City of Dreams Casino awaits poker superstars
Poker players competing in this world-class event on the poker calendar will not be disappointed with what the City of Dreams has in store. The hotel and casino megalopolis sports a fantastic array of 252 gaming tables and an extensive range of machines on level one alone. There are 378 gaming tables in total. The casino enterprise covers a sprawling 159,000 square feet with 1,122 machines to boot. Games that are catered to include: Fan Tan, craps, roulette, Caribbean stud, Sic Bo, 3 Cards Baccarat and Casino War.
