Sylvia Looking Forward to the WSOP Main Event Final Table

The Final Table of the World Series of Poker Main Event is almost upon us, and chip leader Jesse Sylvia is raring to go.  Syliva, aged 26, is a professional poker player from the USA.  He has four career cashes in major tournaments, and his live tournament earnings so far total a little over $23,000 – so even if he were to bust first from the World Series of Poker, he’ll have greatly increased that figure!

Syliva’s biggest previous cash was a second place finish in a $225 buy-in event at Caesar’s palace.  To go from that to top contender in the WSOP Main Event is big news.

Sylvia said “It’s very exciting to have the chip lead. A lot can still happen, and a lot will happen, but it leaves me room for bad stuff to happen and I can still recover, which is all I can ask for in a tournament.  The structure has been more than amazing, and I have stack right now where, some things can wrong and I’ll still be able to push my edges. I think I have a big edge, so I’m going to go ahead and keep doing that.”

Once Sylvia secured his place in the final table, he sought out poker coaching from Vanessa Selbst, a two-time bracelet holder, in the hopes of ensuring that his chip lead will turn into a victory.  No matter what happens, he’s in for a nice prize, but he knows that having a big stack isn’t necessarily enough to guarantee the bracelet.

The WSOP Main Event Final Table is set to begin at 8PM on Monday, and will be screened live on ESPN 2.  We wish everyone going into it the best of luck!
