Finally, after several months of absence, Hollywood Poker is back online. The site closed its doors suddenly in June this year, after being open for eight years.  Players with outstanding balances had them transfered to RedKings, so they didn’t have to worry about cashing out or getting reimbursed.

The Hollywood Poker brand was transfered to PLAOR (pronounced “player”), and the site is back in free-to-play form.  The re-opening plans were announced earlier this month, and players have been eagerly anticipating the opening of the new site, which will allow players to compete against celebrities in tournaments designed to raise money for charity.

The list of celebrities on the site is impressive, with TV and movie stars and lots of reality TV stars opting to take part in the charity events on this social poker site.  The company hopes to expand the list to include a huge range of athletes, musicians, movie stars, and more, so that everyone will have the chance to play with a celebrity that they like.

Hollywood Poker isn’t the only site enjoying a grand re-opening this season.  Full Tilt poker will be re-opening its doors next week, and will be offering some great tournaments and bonuses as a welcome back to its former members.
