Day 4 of the European poker Tour Berlin 5,000 Euro No Limit Hold’em Main Event was more exciting than the average poker tournament. Six armed robbers stormed the tournament room. The live video feed showed the first few seconds of the commotion, but was quickly turned off, and remained off for the rest of the day.
Nobody was seriously injured in the robbery, but the incident did delay the tournament for several hours – play did not resume until 6PM. The live video feed is expected to be turned back on for the final table of the tournament.
When play resumed, the field had been narrowed down to 20 players. By the end of the day, only eight players remained. Everyone who went home today took home at least 23,500 Euros for their efforts, and the final eight are guaranteed to be going home with at least 72,000 Euros.
The chip leader at the end of Day 4 was Kevin MacPhee, who stands head and shoulders above the rest of the pack with 6,070,000 chips. His closest competitor is Ketul Nathwani, with 4,685,000 chips. Rounding out the table are Marc Inizan (3,655,000), Marcel Koller (3,590,000), Artur Wasek (3,530,000), Marko Neumann (2,185,000) and Nico Behling (960,000).
The tournament winner will take home 1,000,000 Euros. Stay tuned for more updates as the tournament progresses.
