The poker pros taking part in the European Poker Tour Berlin Main Event Day 4 got more than they bargained four as the event was robbed at gun point.

The players reportedly dove under their tables at te Grand Hyatt Hotel in Berlin as five masked men raided the event at 2PM CET.  According to some reports, the men had guns, but other conflicting reports say that they had knives.  Either way, it must have been a scary experience for the players.  Tables were turned upside down as the players ducked underneath for safety.

Some players said that they heard threats of bombs, although these claims have not been confirmed.  There have been some reports of minor injuries, but no one was seriously hurt.

Kristy Arnette said “EPT Berlin was raided by masked men with weapons. We’re all OK now. Finally functioning almost normally now that the adrenaline has worn off”.

Play resumed at 4PM local time, and a police investigation is underway.  The EPT organizers put out a call for anyone who was present at the event to submit any video footage and photographs that may help the police.

Keep checking back for more information, and updates on the progress of the tournament itself, as we get it.
