Aussie Millions Begins Tomorrow
Live poker in 2008 kicks off with a bang with no less than four major live events set to start tomorrow. The Aussie Millions Poker Championship, World Poker Open, World Series of Poker Tunica, and PokerStars.com Caribbean Adventure all begin this week, with the Aussie Millions being the tournament the poker world will be focussed on.
The Aussie Millions kicks off on January 5th with a $1100 buy in no limit hold’em event followed by an $1100 pot-limit event which starts on January 6th. Of course the main focus will be on the no limit main event which starts on January 12th and is a $10500 buy in; but this year they are also running a unique $100,000 no limit event which will attract the bigest names in poker and starts on January 9th.
The inaugural Aussie Millions held in 2006 was taken out by experienced New Zealand Australian (we always claim them once they’ve done something) poker professional and author, Lee Nelson. In that year Nelson outlasted a field of 418 entrants to win the first prize and in 2007 well known poker pro, Gus Hansen, fought through a field of 747 poker hopefuls to win the first prize of over $1.5 million.
This year should prove to be the most popular yet and we plan to keep all our readers up to date with live reports straight from Crown Poker throughout the Aussie Millions Championships.
Of course, you can keep up to date with all the live events by scanning our world live poker tournaments schedule which highlights all the major live events around the world.
