Vic Poker Champs Event 1

A star studded field of over 600 including “poker hottie” Shannon Elizabeth turned out for Event 1, the $230 NL Holdem event at Crown Poker. The tourney started in an hilarious fashion for Elizabeth, when the poker playing actress was stopped by one of Crown Poker’s security officer’s and she was asked to produce ID. She smiled politely and obliged.
The poor fellow must not get out much or read Crown’s own marketing as her face (and thankfully her body!!) have been plastered everywhere in Melbourne for the past few weeks promoting the Vic Champs.
But it was local Werribee player Vito Montalto who took down the opening event. From a record 625 hopefuls and a prize pool of $125,000, Vito outlasted all to win the crystal trophy and a cool $28,000. Montalto, who only recently started playing tournaments and has gained most of his experience in playing Sit’N’Go’s in the Crown Poker Room; has shot him to the top of the Crown Poker Player Of The Year Leader board with a massive 888 points knocking Paul Raseta off the number One spot.
