2011 Melbourne Poker Championship

The wildly popular Melbourne Poker Championship is a highly anticipated spectacle on the poker calendar. This year’s tournament is no different, with multiple official events ranging from $50 NL Hold’em contests to the mega $10,200 buy-in for the $100,000 Challenge.

The contest has ramped up the action in recent days, making for an adrenaline-loaded finale come May 16th. The gaming epicenter is the Crown Casino in Melbourne and poker’s brightest talents are locking horns for their slice of poker glory.

The tournament features No-Limit Hold’em games, Pot Limit Omaha, 8 Game Mix and the inimitable Deepstack series contests. Players have battled long and hard through the one-and-a-half week shootout to reach the last leg of the 2011 Melbourne Poker Championship.

Entering the Final Four Days

From Thursday 12th May thru Monday the 16th May, the No-Limit Hold’em Main Event will be taking place. The buy-in is $1,096 and there are no rebuys or add-ons. Poker stars looking to showcase their gaming acumen will relish this opportunity to hit jackpot gold.

Friday 13th May at 12:10pm will fear thru the Main Event Day 1, Flight 2 for a buy-in of $1,100. Starting at 19h:10 is the Step 2 Satellite. This Main Event contest has a buy-in of $250. Come Saturday 14th May at 12:10 pm the Main Event Day 1, Flight 3 kicks into high gear. It’s played re-repechage at a $1,100 buy-in.

On Sunday the 15th May the No-Limit Holdem Aussie Millions Deepstack Series 2, Rd 7 will kick off. The buy-in is set at $125 and there are no rebuys or add-ons. And taking place on the same day at 12:30pm is the No-Limit Hold’em Turbo event. The buy-in here is $240 with no rebuys or add-ons. The last day – Monday 16th May at 14h:10 – is the Main Event, Day 3.

This high-energy contest is run under Crown Casino’s repechage format. This allows players to re-enter subsequent flights if they’ve been knocked out of earlier flights. Top poker players will be in attendance including Todor Kondevski, James Broom and Brendon Rubie.
