The Australia New Zealand Poker Tour (ANZPT) comprises an exciting series of poker events. Season 3 of this prestigious contest is slated to take place at the glittering Casino Canberra between the 10th and 13th of June.
Poker players from down under and indeed all over the world will converge on this high-stakes poker competition to pit their playing skills against one another in a high-stakes series of game.
This highly anticipated series of poker tourneys is the pride and joy of Oz and New Zealand. The popularity of the contest grows with every season and there is more big money changing hands than ever before. Players can still win their seats to this contest and join fellow poker greats in Lee Nelson and Joe Hachem. Qualifying is a cinch for players with poker smarts. The contest is sponsored by PokerStars and it will be showcased on television channels and online poker sites.
The ANZPT Canberra caps the number of players at 240.
The Structure of the ANZPT Contests
All players in the ANZPT begin with 20,000 in tourney chips. As players advance through levels – each played for 1 hour only – they will significantly up the blinds and the ante. This ensures that the poker pots reach super-sizes at the highest levels. Level 32 for example requires 100,000 – 200,000 blinds and 30,000 in ante bets.
During the contests, players are afforded 10-minute break intervals after every 2 levels of play. And all poker action naturally moves to 9-handed ASAP. From Day 2, Day 3 and 2 and 1 tables, re-draws are conducted.
The ANZPT Season 3 in Canberra
Starting on Friday June 10th at 12:15, players will enter the ANZPT Canberra Main Event. It’s Day 1A and the buy-in starts at $2,000 + 200.
By 12:15 on Saturday June the 11th, the ANZPT Main Event takes shape. This contest is known as Day 1B and has the same buy-in as Day 1A.
Day 2 of the ANZPT Canberra begins on Sunday June 12th at 12:15. And Day 3 of the contest takes place on Monday June 13th at the same time.
PokerStars is the driving force behind the ANZPT and Season 3 will be proudly showcased in the nation’s capital. This glamorous 4-day poker event will see the likes of major poker stars competing against one another in a festival of terrific poker action.
The tournament itself is subject to the structures as determined by Casino Canberra. The Main Even structure and paydays are compiled at the discretion of the Australia New Zealand Poker Tour.
