Okay this is a real hand history from a $20/20 game at Pokerroom a while back.
This was the biggest game going on Pokerroom that night and I had slowly built my stack over a couple of hours when this hand came up. Hero (me) is pitz555, villian is BlackKitty. I had this player pegged as a solid player who generally outplayed his opponents after the flop and was playing a wide range of hands as the rest of the table was fairly tight. What did he have ? Texas Hold'em $20-$20 NL (real money), hand #336,431,183 Table Beaumont, 8 Apr 2006 12:51 AM View Previous | Next hand for this table. Seat 1: Madhatr x ($2,049.50 in chips) Seat 2: Terminater25 ($2,005.50 in chips) Seat 3: pitz555 [5S,2S] ($4,890.75 in chips) Seat 4: robert1mm ($1,408.10 in chips) Seat 5: ffttdd ($5,041.35 in chips) Seat 6: gabeto6 ($925 in chips) Seat 8: -BlackKitty- ($3,044.50 in chips) Seat 9: tommy rouge ($3,068.10 in chips) Seat 10: StupidGuy x ($2,000 in chips) ANTES/BLINDS tommy rouge posts blind ($10), StupidGuy x posts blind ($20). PRE-FLOP Madhatr x calls $20, Terminater25 folds, pitz555 calls $20, robert1mm calls $20, ffttdd calls $20, gabeto6 folds, -BlackKitty- bets $100, tommy rouge folds, StupidGuy x folds, Madhatr x calls $80, pitz555 calls $80, robert1mm folds, ffttdd folds. FLOP [board cards 5H,3S,7H ] Madhatr x checks, pitz555 bets $300, -BlackKitty- calls $300, Madhatr x folds. TURN [board cards 5H,3S,7H,JC ] pitz555 bets $475, -BlackKitty- bets $1,500, pitz555 bets $2,300, -BlackKitty- calls $1,144.50 and is all-in. RIVER [board cards 5H,3S,7H,JC,AS ] I'll put $20 in to anyones account who can correctly guess the villian's hand. |

2H-4H, was going to say 4-6 but that seems to easy.
I wanna know why you called her reraise with such a low pair. |

Normally you would just throw it away but I was pretty sure they weren't holding an over pair and in a rasied pot it was serisouly unlikely that that flop had hit anyone but me. Unless perhaps they were holding A-7 - maybe A-5. My turn bet smacked of weakness and the big pot bet by the villian was an unlikely way to play the hand if they had me covered - a simple call or smaller reraise would have had me more worried. I felt the villian was just making a play for the pot.
I was fairly sure I still had the best hand at this point as wasn't prepared throw it in on an overbet. The question is though - was I right ? |
