Played my first freeroll yesterday and finished 18th of about 500................ :D..............only first 10 places paid out unfortunately.

But it got me thinking, Is there anyway to know that some of these sites may be taking your money...............I mean...........did the guy that took me out really exist.............can these things be fixed................Are these sites programmed to win, like the pokies???...............

Was just keen to get some feedback....................also, please help me out with any good sites for info on the odds for poker.

Sorry for being new.....................but I have to start somewhere............... ::)

That's a very good job for your first freeroll Botch

The sites make money from the rake so in theory they don't give a fat rats who is winning as long people are playing. It would be completely counterproductive to "assist" some players as this would only drive other players away and reduce their rake.

If you have any doubts sit in and watch some of the high limit games at your site. There is no way these people would be throwing that kind of money around if the sites weren't conducting themselves properly.

Most sites are externally audited to ensure fairness

yeah they tale their cut at the start. you might see a tourney or sit and go say $5.00 +50c means it costs 5.50 to play but 50c is taken by the site so just your 5 bucks is divided by the payouts.

it's usually around 10% most sites take.
